Lago Maulazzo
Lake Maulazzo is one of the most evocative corners of the Nebrodi Park, a place where water, woods and mountains meet creating a landscape of great charm. Located on the northeastern slopes of Monte Soro, it is a small artificial lake of about five hectares, built in the 1980s and today perfectly integrated into the natural environment that surrounds it.
Immersed in the beautiful beech forest of the Nebrodi, the lake offers an atmosphere of peace and silence, ideal for those who want to get away from the daily rhythms and spend a few hours in close contact with nature. Its waters, surrounded by greenery and trees, change appearance with the seasons, offering particularly evocative scenarios during autumn, when the forest is colored with warm shades.
Reaching Lake Maulazzo also means discovering one of the most characteristic landscapes of the Sicilian hinterland. The lake is located along naturalistic routes that cross the large beech forest of Monte Soro and continue towards Lake Biviere, offering the opportunity to experience the territory through walks and excursions surrounded by greenery.
It is a place to stop, observe the reflection of the trees on the water, listen to the sounds of the forest and rediscover the pleasure of simplicity. Lake Maulazzo perfectly tells the greenest and most uncontaminated soul of the Nebrodi, made of silences, landscapes and nature to be lived slowly.
